Super-Simple Relaxation Trick

I recently learned a really easy relaxation trick from one of the Martha Beck Inc. master coaches, and I’ve been trying it out. It’s surprisingly effective despite how simple it sounds. All you have to do is consciously relax the muscle at the back of your tongue. That’s it. For me, when I tried it the first time, I felt the rest of my body give an all-over ‘aaaaaahhhh.’ My jaw, neck, and shoulders all relaxed at the same time. I played with it on a three-hour drive this weekend, reminding myself every few minutes, when I had tensed up, to do it again. Aaaaaaahhhhhhh…
